About this mod

Coatings can be applied to weapons infinitely and are weightless. They also last until long rest.

Permissions and credits
Donations
DETAILS:

  • Can be installed mid-playthrough. This affect coatings you've already obtained and will obtain in the future.

  • Can be safely uninstalled.

  • Do not throw! The coating will be consumed if you do. My workaround of having a copy spawn on the ground after throwing doesn't seem to work well with coatings. So as of 1.0 of this mod, do not throw coatings if you don't want them consumed!

  • If you're using the main file, the duration of the coating will show as a dash on the tooltip. Long rest will remove the coating on the weapon.

  • If you prefer the default duration of coatings, download Infinite Coatings_Default under Optional Files.

  • If you want a stock of coatings, download Coating Stock under Miscellaneous Files. It will add 10 of each coating to the tutorial chest. You'll need wesslen's Tutorial Chest Summoning mod to obtain them if you're already past the nautiloid ship.

MANUAL INSTALLATION:

  • Download figs999's Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Fixer mod. Extract the .zip and put the .pak file in \AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods. To find the AppData folder, type %appdata% in your Windows search bar.

  • Extract InfiniteCoatings.zip. and put the extracted .pak file in \AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods.

  • Go to \AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public and open modsettings.lsx. I use Notepad++ to do this.

Look for this in modsettings.lsx:
        <node id="Mods">
          <children>
            <node id="ModuleShortDesc">
              <attribute id="Folder" value="GustavDev" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="MD5" value="4fdef99ec596bb9d2d254e10f2c32a91" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="Name" value="GustavDev" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="UUID" value="28ac9ce2-2aba-8cda-b3b5-6e922f71b6b8" type="FixedString" />
              <attribute id="Version64" value="144115832324585265" type="int64" />
            </node>

And then add this under it:
            <node id="ModuleShortDesc">
              <attribute id="Folder" value="InfiniteCoatings" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="MD5" value="" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="Name" value="InfiniteCoatings" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="UUID" value="8f44e003-3eec-44b6-9eac-842f06710bd3" type="FixedString" />
              <attribute id="Version64" value="36028797018963968" type="int64" />
            </node>

It should look something like this after:
        <node id="Mods">
          <children>
            <node id="ModuleShortDesc">
              <attribute id="Folder" value="GustavDev" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="MD5" value="4fdef99ec596bb9d2d254e10f2c32a91" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="Name" value="GustavDev" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="UUID" value="28ac9ce2-2aba-8cda-b3b5-6e922f71b6b8" type="FixedString" />
              <attribute id="Version64" value="144115832324585265" type="int64" />
            </node>
            <node id="ModuleShortDesc">
              <attribute id="Folder" value="InfiniteCoatings" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="MD5" value="" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="Name" value="InfiniteCoatings" type="LSString" />
              <attribute id="UUID" value="8f44e003-3eec-44b6-9eac-842f06710bd3" type="FixedString" />
              <attribute id="Version64" value="36028797018963968" type="int64" />
            </node>
